FIBER OPTIC SPLICER DESCRIPTION
Full Job Description
The Fiber Optic Splicer is responsible for the installation, support, and troubleshooting of fiber equipment for commercial and residential buildings. This position will also be responsible for the installation of fiber enclosures.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Maintain a customer first attitude to ensure customer satisfaction
• Travel to each assigned site as needed to complete work orders
• Share information and provide feedback to internal teams on a consistent basis
• Field calls, emails, and work orders
• Demonstrate effective troubleshooting skills and the ability to use them
• Understand Fiber maps and matrix's as well as other technical manuals
• Assist with upkeep on network documentation and product training materials
• Ensure that network quality meets the customers expectations

• Time-Management, prioritization and multi-tasking abilities

• Strong problem-solving skills

• Ability to mechanically/fusion splice Fiber Optic Cables
• Aptitude to interpret, maintain, and create fiber optic splice maps
• Proven ability to troubleshoot connectivity issues
• Capable to assemble fiber enclosure and cans
• Ability to fasten and secure enclosures to building structures
• Strong understanding networking devices and wireless access points
Experience Requirements and Positives:
• Two (2) years of experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Two (2) years of successful deployment experience in LVC and/or fiber installations
• Two (2) years of experience with experience in troubleshooting networking issues
• Must have experience with the techniques, application and installation of grounding, Cat5, fiber optics, LAN/WAN networks
• Be on your feet for long periods of time
• Ability to lift 75 pounds
• Ability to use hand tools
• Current driver license with no major violations in the past 3 years
