Must be physically fit to perform duties, including the ability to lift up to 50lbs. and stand for extended periods. The employee must be drug and alcohol-free.

Job Description

Fiber Splicer Installer Supervisor is responsible for overseeing Fiber Optics Installers as they perform their responsibilities, such as; installing, preparing, and troubleshooting fiber optic cables and systems. The professional will have an in-depth knowledge of primary specifications and parameters.

• High school diploma or GED required
• Skilled in fiber optic splicing with an understanding of engineering and splicing drawings
• Project management skills
• Ability to work independently
• Have a background in fiber optic splicing documentation practices
• Excellent organization and planning skills to prioritize and balance work
• Ability to lead others in the completion of a schedule, budget guidelines, and customer requirements
• Follow OSHA standards
• Great verbal and written communication skills
• Valid driver’s license
• Computer proficient, with experience in MS Excel, Project, and Word

SPECIFIC AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
• Recruiting new crew members
• Monitoring performance?
• Making recommendations for improvement
• Educating all staff on safety
• Setting goals for performance and deadlines in ways that comply with the company's plans and vision.
• Organizing workflow and ensuring that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks.
• Monitoring employee productivity and providing constructive feedback and coaching.
• Interact with a wide range of people, from suppliers and deliverymen to venture capitalists and property owners
• Perform various hands-on tasks, including keeping materials organized on job sites
• Cleaning job sites
• Building and maintaining temporary support structures
• Travel to and supervise multiple sites during the course of a day
• Fulfill human resource needs by training, scheduling, assigning, coaching, and disciplining employees; adhering to procedures and policies; recommending compensation; and communicating job expectations
• Meet operational standards by resolving problems, contributing information to strategic plans, and identifying improvements
• Maintain a healthy and safe work environment by enforcing procedures and standards and complying with legal regulations
• Installing, preparing, and troubleshooting fiber optic cables and systems
• Designs optical paths and passive optical networks
• Good understanding of the types of cables, cable color codes, and other cabling techniques
• Handle any issues related to the optical fiber install process
• Responsibility of the Fiber Optics Installer to check the newly installed cable
• Troubleshoot any issues related to fiber optic cables and other networking systems
• Responsible for splicing optical fiber together mechanically or with the help of fusion splicer
• Terminates and tests the optical fiber with a connector at a piece of equipment
• Design the whole fiber optic system and take care of the fiber and cable construction
• Terminates and tests the?optical fiber?with a connector at the main equipment outlet
• Design the entire fiber optic system and maintain the fiber and cable construction
• Ability to test the spliced fibers with an OTDR
• Resolve any issues related to the lines and networks

Additional responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as required to maintain accurate, complete customer care and company efficiency.
