Job Description
Communications Lineman
Able to perform all duties of Communications Aerial maintenance and Line work. Install and remove various anchors systems. Install and remove down guy/anchor, sidewalk arms, and guy guards. Lash and De-Lash Existing Cable. Experience in Pole Transfers of all types. Qualified candidates will have excellent customer service, interpersonal, communications and organization. Must have the ability to work inside the power space safely. Understanding emergency restoration protocols.
DOT Health Card required to operate and drive a bucket truck. A CDL license is a plus but not required. Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in all aspects of Aerial construction. Knowledge to read and understand aerial drawings. Must have a current, valid, unrestricted Driver’s license.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Experience in OSP Fiber pulling & installations
• Understanding of separation and clearance regulations.
• Bucket truck certification is a plus.
• Knowledge of ADSS fiber cabling construction and maintenance.
• Job includes operating bucket trucks to Lash and De-Lash Existing & New Cable in addition to hand tools, power tools, ladders, and construction equipment
• Knowledge of lashing machine.
• Prepare daily production log.
• Assist in coordinate between local utilities, when necessary.
• Scheduling plant related activities for construction and / or maintenance.
• Submit reports on all construction activity, daily, weekly and monthly as required.
• Attend training classes for new technology and safety as required.
• Be proficient in pole climbing and working from Hooks/Gaffs.
• Willing to Travel.
• Read and interpret engineering plans.
• Operate Company vehicles in a safe and responsible manner: Clean, maintain, stock, and secure.
• Frequent sitting, standing, climbing, and bending. Occasional standing, walking, and kneeling and crawling are required.
• Work nights and weekends, if necessary Carry 75-80 lbs., to include an extension ladder
• Ability to work at heights of 20+ feet.
• Completes paperwork, timesheets, test results, vehicle inspection, and logs.
• Assists other Team personnel in the performance of their duties when requested to promote a Team approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screens
• Must always comply with proper safety standards/procedures and work practices according to Company policy or the customer’s special request.
• Work under any type of weather conditions.
