Job Description
CUI Construction is dedicated to delivering quality results are looking for a motivated individual to help us lead a team of OSP Maintenance Technicians/Splicers.
Outline of basic responsibilities and functions:
• Oversee a team of Outside Plant Technicians whose primary duties include:
o Coax Splicing, reconfiguration, and activation
o Sweep, balance of testing on coax cable plant
o Power Supply Troubleshoot/Activation
o Node Optimizations
o CLI Mitigation/Repair
• Issue daily work assignments and that said assignments are completed in a timely and accurate manner
• Maintain consistent and open communication with Comcast leadership and field teams
• Comprehend HFC Design Prints
• Operate aerial bucket van along with applicable hand tools & meters/testers
• Ensure work is performed safely and with high level of craftsmanship
Schedule & Location:
• Monday – Friday
• 8 – 10 hours shifts
• Office is located in Frederick, MD
• CUI Construction is growing. Most of our Maintenance work is within Montgomery & Baltimore County, MD. However full current coverage location include:
o Baltimore County, Howard County, Carroll County, Prince Georges County, Montgomery County, Frederick County, Washington County, MD
o Washington, DC
o Arlington/Alexandria VA
o Jefferson County, WV
Required experience and education:
• High school diploma or GED
• Proficiency using related splicing and testing equipment Signal Level Meters, TDR’s, splicing tools, documents and industry safety procedures.
• Able to work in confined spaces and heights of 40 feet.
• Exceptional organizational skills, detail oriented.
Preferred education and experience:
• SCTE / NCTA or equivalent certifications in Broadband applications.
• Familiar with CATV standards, applications, processes and procedures.
• OSHA safety standards and requirements for work site applications.
• Extensive experience in all aspects of fiber optic construction.
• Coax splicing and troubleshooting a plus.
• Knowledgeable of bucket van operation, safety procedures and proper traffic safety set up.
Eligibility qualifications:
• Pass a criminal background check.
• Pass a pre-employment drug screening test.
• Safe driving record accepted by our insurance company.
• Valid driver's license.
• Able to lift 80 pounds.
• Dependable and accountable.
