Job Description

The Construction Manager is responsible for the daily operations of construction sites, from the early planning of projects through overseeing their completion. Duties may vary depending on the details of a project, but generally include scheduling work to proceed according to a strict timeline, overseeing staff at construction sites, conducting audits and checks to ensure that work corresponds with blueprints or client requests, and monitoring safety and compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS

At least 5 years of previous experience in the fiber and coax construction industry,
Fiber Optic Construction/ Telecom experience
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred
Understanding of construction equipment, including safe operating practices and signs of maintenance issues
Understanding of local, state, and federal construction regulations
Knowledge of safe usage practices for required power and hand tools, as well as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Ability to read and comprehend floor plans, equipment manuals, schematics and complex instructions
Organizational skills, including time management, delegation, prioritization and multitasking
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, MS Project)
Knowledge of construction budgeting best practices
Clean, valid Driver's License, and the ability to travel within the assigned territory
Must be able lift 40 lbs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinate and monitor field operations for assigned projects in the assigned region
Develop and maintain project schedules
Proactively identify long lead items and any potential concerns that could impact overall construction schedule and milestones
Clearly and effectively communicate and interact with design team, client and subcontractors to ensure projects are built on time and within budget to the highest standard, including participating in progress meetings
Prepare and file progress reports for each project assigned
Monitor and ensure proper workflow of submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs
Identify and schedule inspections as required at specific project milestones
Develop, distribute, and ensure satisfactory completion of internal punch lists for each trade
Assist the project team with close outs
Provide information of the status of the project in terms of % of completion and cost allocation
