Job Description

A laborer is responsible for the construction of all utility industry. May be required to work unpredictable hours and working outdoors in all types of weather. To perform hourly construction work specified as needed. Shall assist the assigned crew by furnishing tools, materials, and supplies; cleaning work area, machines, and tools; holding materials or tools for other workers; and performing traffic control duties as directed by the crew leader. At a minimum, the position requires familiarity with hand tools, ladders, and vehicles and the functionality of each. Loads, unloads, and identifies building materials, machinery, and tools. Safely Control traffic and set up job site safely. Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, and compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, and rakes. Cleans jobsite and eliminates possible hazards. Operators are able to operate the equipment that is used for utility installation. Operator Aligns machines with reference to stakes, markers or guidelines and/or hand signals of other workers. Foreman supervise and coordinate the activities of crew members. Manage field crews in a safe, efficient and productive manner. Comply and enforce company and industry safety rules and operating procedures. Maintain a positive attitude, understand the company core values and demonstrates the best interest of the company at all times. Foreman must be able to read and understand construction prints. Train employees as needed. Develop and follow through on a plan for each job site.
