Underground Directional Boring Manager

Job Description

Manage our directional boring crews primarily in northern Ohio.

Manages in-house staff and subcontractors
Verifies the implementation of safety and quality programs by the field staff
Issues work to in-house and subcontractor crews
Responsible for reviewing and approving material requests
Responsible for reviewing and approving tech pay sheets/invoices
Plans, prepares and issues project and task schedules
Reviews and updates project schedule, cost estimates, and as-builts at completion
Advises management of the status of work in progress, cost to date, personnel availability, and project issues
Responsible for delivering a project safely, on-time, and at an optimal cost
Responsible for updating project data databases
Responsible for the preparation, content, and quality of deliverables and reports
Schedules and expedites the movement of personnel and equipment to and from project sites.
Complies with all health & safety policies and practices
Complies with all site access and security requirements
Ensures a means of emergency communications with field teams

Education, Experience And Qualifications
Relevant experience wherein the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the position's duties and responsibilities have been adequately demonstrated
Ability to have major impact on organizational success and productivity, with latitude for independent judgment
Ability to communicate effectively at the highest levels
Ability to lead large sized projects, including defining scope, objectives and methods.
Ability to train and mentor more junior staff
A high level of communication skills, reasoning ability and intermediate ability with computer skills necessary to perform essential functions of the job
Ability to work in a team oriented project environment

• Must be able to bend, stand, sit, crawl, climb, and lift throughout each day

• Must have valid driver's license - Class A CDL preferred
• Must be able to pass drug and background screening
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
