Job Description
CableCom is seeking an experienced, full time Technical Operations Supervisor who will lead our splicing teams in South San Francisco, California. This is a graveyard position. Successful candidates will have some leadership experience and at least 5 years of experience with Fiber and Coax splicing. We offer competitive pay and an extensive benefits package.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise, train, and develop a team of coax and fiber splicers.
- Field train and control/oversee the work of other splicers when necessary.
- Be able to perform any necessary equipment installation.
- Perform quality control inspections by reviewing work completed by employees and or sub-contractors.
- Maintain and enforce company, federal and state rules and regulations, such as non-discriminatory practices, payroll and overtime
guidelines, etc.
- Supervise all operations to ensure that all splicing projects are completed in accordance with customer and industry specifications. This
includes ensuring that all needed tools and equipment are available at the jobsite, working from engineered blueprints, and keeping track
of production.
- Resolve complaints with property owners in areas that you’re working.
- Fill-out daily production reports, mark-up maps, keep track of work hours, complete "as-built maps" for areas built.
- Reconcile all issued parts and materials on a daily basis to ensure accurate material usage counts.
- Maintain and enforce company, federal and state rules and regulations, such as non-discriminatory practices, payroll and overtime
guidelines, etc.
- Willing to work shifts as assigned, including daily overtime when necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Possess a valid driver’s license or be eligible and willing to obtain the required commercial driver’s license as needed.
- Experienced in the cable installation field or in the telecommunications industry.
- Provide verifiable evidence of experience in CATV construction field and prior supervisory experience in construction or related field.
- Must be able to work overnight hours.
- At least 5 years of experience with fiber and coax splicing.
- Management / supervisory experience.
- Bucket truck experience.
- Pass background and drug screen requirements.
- Capable of working in all temperatures, climates, and weather conditions.
Physical Requirements:
Standing - 6 to 8 hours daily
Walking - 4 to 6 hours daily
Climbing - 0 to 2 hours daily
Driving - 0-4 hours daily
Bending/Twisting - 0 to 2 hours daily
Pushing/Pulling - 0 to 2 hours daily
Repetitive Motion (grasping, manipulation) - 0 to 2 hours daily
Lifting (weights up to 100 lbs.) - rarely
Lift & Carry (weights of 50 to 60 lbs.) – occasionally
