The Construction Manager will be responsible for providing oversight and direction for all phases of assigned projects. Understand operational goals, objectives, plan and delegate assignments. Develop and maintain a successful relationship with our customer(s), city officials, outside service personnel, in-house staff and sub-contractors. Fully understand our customer(s) procedures, rate card items, invoicing, timelines, inventories, objectives, design maps, and all other customer requirements. Provide clear and concise communication with our customer(s), their staff, inhouse personnel, sub-contractor, outside service providers, other utilities, and city officials. Establish a complete and comprehensive “locate” tracking procedures.

You will be the liaison between CAT5 and our customer(s). It will be imperative to understand all of our customer’s requirements, objectives and timelines, while maintain CAT5’ objective and financial goals. Quality assurance and safety are overriding goals along with the imperative demand to satisfy customer needs.

Successful candidates should have knowledgeable of San Antonio and surrounding municipalities requirement’s for both Aerial and underground construction and understand all city’s requirement and procedures, including field walk outs, right of ways and utility easements. He or she should have a heavy background with CATV, Fiber to the home, Frelo’s, commercial/residential construction, new build, rebuild construction and routine repairs orders.

Current and/or past managerial experience along with hands on experience will be key for any candidate to be successful at this high-level manager position. Construction manager’s complete responsibilities will be detail during the interview process.

The knowledge and the understanding of the following will also be evaluated to determine a candidate’s qualifications and base salary.

Hiring and managing inhouse crews, supervisors and field coordinators
Design - Complete understanding of coax and fiber architecture and maps
Make Ready - Engineering and Construction
Gather Maps and Documentation - Prepare packages from customer project specific work orders.
Knowledge of Excel, power point, word and standard e-mail correspondences
Knowledge and understanding of rate card line items and how they actually relate to field applications
Plat Maps - ROWs and Easements
Project Walkouts - Compare SOW to work order issued
White line UG Projects for Locates - Identify utilities, private facilities and safety concerns
Submit Dig Safe Locate Tickets - Tracking clear tickets, ticket verification and post in our database
Field Inspection of Completed Locates - Verify all are correct and have been properly located
Issue projects and supporting documentation to construction crews
Knowledge of Aerial/UG Construction Materials and Tools
Aerial Construction- Fiber/Coax Construction Processes
UG Construction- Drilling, Plowing, Trenching, Missiles and Locates
Splicing - Coax/Fiber
Coax Activation - Balancing and Sweep
Fiber - ORDR Measurements and Splice Docs
Knowledge of PON, FTTH, DWDM, CWDM
Commercial Installation Processes
Quality Assurance
Permitting for ROW and Traffic Control - Prepare and submit information for permits
Safety
