Job Description

American Teletec is a growing utility construction contractor that has been in business for over 20 years and is currently seeking a construction supervisor to become an integral leader. The ideal candidate for this position should have extensive experience in utility construction, splicing, cable and fiber installation and will serve as the team leader from project initiation to project completion. The duties for this position will be completed both in the office and in the field. Position is based out of our Cheyenne, WY headquarters with travel in Colorado and Wyoming to jobsites. Clean driving record, background check, and drug test required.

Duties and responsibilities include:

Ensures the success of each assigned fiber and cabling project, to include the management of personnel, equipment, material is maintained at all times
Assists in the scheduling on who and where to assigned technicians for assigned projects
Plays a key role in participating in each assigned project and ensures the effective start up actions are coordinated with the customer
Briefs field leads with updates on multiple OSP projects and provides additional information as needed to ensure successful project completion
Controls and tracks on-going projects and provides solutions for field personnel when problems occur
Responsible for follow-through, red lines, and project closeout actions are completed timely
Assists in maintaining growth sales by supporting new and existing customers including providing services for new and existing OSP/ISP projects
Prepares, processes and maintains all electronic files, correspondence, schedules and reports necessary to perform the responsibilities of the project contract or request
Develops and maintains strong customer relationships as a trusted advisor
Prepares and communicates on a daily basis detailed project information to customer contacts, keeping them updated and aware of the status of all projects and communications as needed
Assists field leads on jobsite when applicable to have a clear understanding of processes and current work environments
Continuously and proactively seeks opportunities to analyze and streamline projects, processes, methods, tools, equipment, and personnel. Works to enhance the quality and quantity of work performed
Demonstrates flexibility with weekly schedule to support and assist field staff with night work or emergency response situations
Works with state, county, and local officials permitting and traffic control
Coordinates with customers for utility locates
Keeps track of material inventory and procures material as required
Insure team adherence to safety requirements

Qualifications:

At least 5-10 years of experience within a position requiring knowledge of project management in OSP/ISP Cable/Fiber and technology systems.
Understanding of how to interpret engineering documents/plans along with fiber documents
Provides leadership and a keen sense for detail skills and with follow-up ability
Ability to foresee events and anticipate changes in conditions and operations to the greatest extent possible and the ability to react and provide effective troubleshooting solutions.
Effective communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills to establish and maintain cooperative work relationships with others.
Produce high quality of work in a consistent, accurate, thorough and timely manner.
Travel may be required (Licensed in WY, CO)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS NECESSARY TO PERFORM THIS JOB:

Be able to give and receive detailed information through verbal and written communication.
Operate motor vehicles, driving to and from work sites, corporate offices and materials locations.
Sufficient vision to read instructions, blueprints, documents, etc., as well as to drive in daylight and at night and to avoid hazards on the job site. Must be able to distinguish colors in order to identify wiring and fiber.
Apply extensive physical mobility (manual dexterity, reaching, bending, climbing, crawling, kneeling, arm and leg extension) to supervise and perform routine activities including the ability to climb stairs and ladders, run conduit, etc.
Possess extensive arm and hand mobility and strength to lift, hold, reach, carry, push and pull commonly used materials. Able to use power and hand tools on jobsite. Able to move tools and materials into and out of vehicles.
Regularly lift and move 20 – 35 pounds. Occasionally lift up to 50 to 100 pounds.
Walk over uneven terrain, over debris and other obstacles.
Regularly withstand Wyoming/Colorado hot and cold weather conditions to perform outdoor responsibilities.
Understand the specified work is completed primarily in the field but requires a certain amount of office time
