Job Description
Field Engineer-QA/QC Inspector Telecom
The Field Engineer will provide a supporting role to the Project Manager, Construction Manager, and/or Project Supervisor on Telecommunications projects. Additionally, the Field Engineer will provide support in the planning, documentation and verification and quality inspection of the final product work. Individual will have a working knowledge of the project specifications and drawings, and support the execution of the project plan, including resolution of issues and supporting the efforts of other Field Engineers assigned to the project.
This position reports to the Project Manager. The position is located at the Pikeville, Kentucky project location.
MAJOR JOB ELEMENTS
• Performs field survey work in regards to layout and tracking of work activities for internal workforce and subcontract partners utilizing PC based software.
• Support the Project Manager on material management, including inventory tracking, material receiving, and reporting.
• Responsible for implementing the project quality assurance/ quality control process, including establishing, organizing and maintaining project documentation.
• Responsible to timely identify any changes in the conditions of the work performed to the PM that may impact costs, schedule, and contract or customer relationship.
• Assembles and coordinates resolution of punch list items in cooperation with the customer and ensuring timely completion of outstanding items.
• Provide support for construction, assist in the resolution production issues, including participation in construction planning process.
• Interfaces with on-site construction crews as required ensuring safety is maintained, quality of construction and tracking productivity goals.
• Assists in the development of project job books and facilitates the turnover of contract documentation to the client.
• Ability to communicate well, including sound written and oral communication skills.
Qualifications:
• Experience / knowledge of operations, construction, design, and management preferred.
• Understanding of utility industry practices, operations, processes, and standards, with emphasis on Telecommunications infrastructure preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
• Ability to lift 50lbs, walk long distances, work outside.
• 100% Travel is required for this position.
