Qualifications
Previous experience as a locator who can communicate via headset and hand signals to guide the drill operator.
Other Requirements
Must be able to obtain a DOT Fed/Med card and CDL once hired if not currently held or valid.
Job Description
• Read and interpret utility maps to identify the type and size of underground utilities
• Identify, locate, and mark underground utilities
• Load material and equipment to and from the job site
• Pull cable through underground conduit
• Prep sites with proper road signs and cones as needed
• Operate electronic detection equipment to locate and mark underground facilities within defined accuracy limits
• Perform light excavation with shovel to expose buried utilities when necessary
• Provide accurate documentation related to all locates completed
• Receive and respond to excavation notices following established time requirements
• Operate company vehicles safely and maintain a professional appearance
• Perform maintenance hole entry using assigned equipment and safety devices

• Perform other duties as assigned
