Job Description
We are looking for an Underground Construction Manager with 3+ years of underground cable construction work experience with at least 6 months supervisory experience. The Underground Construction Manager will be responsible for operational oversight of personnel, client relations, and overall underground operations profitability for telecom and CATV outside plant underground construction. Some travel will be required for this position.
Responsibilities:
Manage in house and subcontracted resources performing underground outside plant (OSP) construction by coordinating construction efforts with drill crews, project scheduling, and cost tracking
Participate in the recruiting, hiring, and training of in-house employees and subcontractor underground crews.
To be the primary point of contact related to state-wide underground construction.
Track the required deliverables from data collection to review and distribution.
Monitor quality of work product and compliance with contract terms.
Oversee the general maintenance and care of company underground equipment and assets.
Ensure the use of proper construction techniques/standards and adherence to safety standards.
Qualifications:
3+ years of underground cable construction and minimum of 6 months of supervisory experience
Understand of all facets of the underground cable construction process.
Knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
Able to read and understand financial metrics and identify remedies to financial issues.
Excellent planning, organization and project management skills
Strong Microsoft Office computer skill
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must pass a background check, drug test, and motor vehicle check.
