Starting pay based on experience. Bonus pay for night/weekend work. 40+ hours per week typical. Health insurance, 401(k) and profit sharing offered.
Qualifications
Actual field experience needed in fiber cable and enclosure prep, fusion splicing, OTDR testing.
Other Requirements
Driver's license required. Background check required for badge access to customer facilities. All vehicles and equipment will be furnished.
Job Description
Re-enter existing live enclosures of various types at aerial and underground locations. Prep new (mostly Tyco/Commscope/PLP) enclosures. Fusion splice and OTDR test various counts of mostly loose tube fiber optic cables.
Some documentation of test results and work line items performed will be required.
Reading and interpreting fiber splicing plans and matrices required.
Night work required. Security will be provided for night work in sketchy areas. No certifications required. Must be available for 1 week 24hr emergency restoration call rotation. 1 week rotations will be based on the number of splicers we have on staff. No back to back week call. Large emergency restorations will require emergency response by all hands regardless of on-call status.
Minor aerial line work to access fiber tails and enclosures utilizing a bucket truck pulling a splice lab trailer will be required.
