Qualifications
Five years of experience in the power line industry. Must be able to obtain OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certifications. Proficient with MS Office. Listen to and communicate effectively with customers, regulatory agencies, members of the business community and the general public. Motivate and manage individuals to accomplish departmental goals.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
• Provides “safety” subject matter expertise, ensuring the most relevant and effective internal and external safety practices are used and implemented while delivering work at Thayer Power & Communication.
• Responsible for directing the work of the safety team and guiding them in creating an injury free environment.
• Lead efforts to involve employees in safety-related programs and issues.
• Correct unsafe working conditions and unsafe working habits.
• Conduct safety meetings, inspections, audits, and training programs.
• Oversee the investigation of any event in a timely manner, determine root cause and report to Senior Safety Director. Implement proper corrective actions.
• Identify, document and recommend resolution of hazardous / potentially hazardous conditions; follow through to ensure corrections have been made.
• Travel to work sites and conducts regular inspections of work areas.
• Implement safety systems and processes for new projects.
• Responsible for rotation of rubber personal insulated protective equipment.
• Travel for over night stay
