All accounts were assigned a moniker based on the length of time that account has been active. The titles you see under account names like "Journeyman", "Apprentice", and "Newbie" are those monikers.
It's mostly for entertainment but also lets you know how long someone has been on the forum. If they're a "CABL Addict" or "Old School" then they've been here forever. "Dawgs" and "Veterans" not much less.
It's explained in the Help section. I haven't set how people will advance over time yet but fret not, you'd won't be an Apprentice forever.
