Re: Some changes

One of the goals of the upgrade was to try to reduce the administration work, which was getting to be more than I could handle. The biggest problem people had usually involved logon and cookies were a large part of that, so cookies are no longer used except to keep you signed in on your computer.

A side effect you'll notice, the last message you've read (which determines the "new" message markers you see) is now stored with your login instead of a cookie. So if you login on different computers, the "new" messages now follow you. You also won't see the "new" messages until after logging on.

Next major headache was the all-in-one registration/update form, now replaced with many more forms but they should be clear enough not to require help. So far that's going well after a small problem with activation codes. If you couldn't activate an account before, try it now; it should work.

The automatically-generated passwords at registration were a pain too, so now you put in what you want and the account is activated through a link sent to your email.
