Ya man. There is a pretty good trick for that. If you've got a T-40 or a truck with a winch line. Naw, forget about the winch itself and concentrate on the rope. Cut a peice of the rope off, pull the inside garbage out, that should leave you with just the hallow braided outside. This will act as a rope finger. Creates alot less drag, without edges to get all caught up.Now PULL!
