You may find the cost of microwave and headaches are worst than your coax span. An ideas is look at a fiber link. You may be able to reorute with a fiber link and avoid cuts. Reroute meaning you can find a better route that is a little longer and the fiber link will negate the coax distance limitations. Just an ideas

microwave system that would go up to 550 meg's & is 2 way. We are currently using an underwater line that goes 2100 feet across an inlet. We only serve about 100 customers. The line seems to get cut every 4 or 5 years. Right now the signal is rolling off alot at the highend. >
