intermittent short

Got a pesky lil' problem with a leg of feeder. From time to time it loses lowband but not AC. When you pull and re-install a faceplate it resumes working properly. Have shot a couple spans with TDR and see no adverse traces. Since the problem goes away with the removal of a faceplate it's hard to track and it sometimes wont came back for months. Anyone here had experience with this and have good solution? I'm thinking that we might have to tear apart every connector and look for slightly short center conductor or broken pin and check all the seizure screws down the line as well which would be a real pain in the ass..
