1.Set-up of a spectrum analyzer
Press frequency button
start = 5mhz
stop =45mhz
sweep button 20 ms sweep time
5 db per division
Reference of 10 db
Attenuation of 10 db
There are many ways to set it up depending on what you are looking for but this way is pretty standard. The best place to hook up at is the receiver in the headend........Or a node or an amps return output port.
2.If you are using a sam 4040 you will have to remove the modulation and carrier to test for composite triple beat or second order beats.
3.Irc = incrementaly related coherent and hrc =harmonicaly related coherent these are predetermined channel plans that are used to control the effects of distortion in cable tv distribution plant. Read joe 50's discription of it because he nailed it right on the money.
