I have been in this business for a long time.  Longer than many of you have been alive.  Mergers have been happening since day one of my tenure.  The net affect on my bottom line has been very close to zero.  Sometimes it has been a good thing and other times it has been a bad thing.  Best advice; don't worry about it.  It is usually a done deal before you know anything about it.  Do excellent and safe work.  You will always have work if you do.
