I had the exact same problem while working in Upstate NY, it took my over an year but I won. Hopefully you have your paperwork in order. Recently I lost a case, the unemployment office said that any contractor who doesn't have a business license in the state of WV is an employee, it cost me $9,000 each, that want happen again. California is trying to eliminate all independent contractors, oh well...
