A " Prime " is the general contractor that holds the direct contract with the client, be it cable company, power coop, city.....
Subcontractors are individuals or more than one that contract with the " Prime " to complete work for both the Prime and end client.
Typically Primes are larger companies that can afford the overhead, insurance, and payroll to complete large projects.
