Re: Bury drop pricing


If you think there is a "going rate” for buried drops or any other contracting work, you are not ready to be a contractor.  How do you know the so called "going rate" is profitable.   I will say that historiclly, burying drops has not been a profitable way to make a living.  They pay the least per foot when they should pay the most per foot. You may be burying drops now as an employee and are good at it. Or you may just want to find a way to get off the road and don’t really know what you are getting into.  A lot of contractors bury drops as part of a turn key project of as a favor to a company, not as a profit center.  

Do your homework!  Figure out YOUR costs plus YOUR profit.  That will be YOUR rate.  Only YOU know those numbers. Good luck and have a profitable year!
