Re: Continuous Fiber Monitoring

It's a county government system that interconnects all their buildings and services, data voice, video.

70 mile ring with 7 hubs 500 sites and about 3500 miles of fiber. Out of the 500 sites we are monitoring 200 using active fiber with a filter, and the rest are using a nonactive fiber. Every site has a 12 fibers spliced with 6 of those active. The 200 active fiber sites are using all 12 fibers.

Installing the hardware was easy and went fairly quickly.

The most time consuming thing was drafting in the fiber routes and all the things like storage loops, splice points and everything else.

If everyone is thinking alike, someone isn't thinking.
