Been a while but we use to do 14' above a home driveway, 18' above a commercial driveway.
Don't know if that is spec but it was what I was taught back in the 70's and to my knowledge never had anything snagged by an oversized load.
Did have to raise and lower some crossings a couple of different times when they moved a couple of houses.
