Simple and easy to answer. Just get your DOT number to cover your a$$ rather you need it or not just get it. When in dought go the extra mile the extra cost just to cover your a$$. Never know when you may or may not need some thing get the extra insurance the dot number the extra shovel extra tire. JUST COVER YOUR A$$ just in case then your safe.
