Idaho drops

You will see postings for drop crews in Idaho that may be enticing but here’s the catch....... every drop, regardless of obstacle, is supposed to be 12”. Every bore is also supposed to be 12”. After seimg the prices one would think that you would be able to make some good money but NO. EVERY yard has a sprinkler. There’s no detecting where they are since you can’t locate them except to dig them up which then ties up a tremendous amount of time. Even when you think you have avoided them you’ll hit one and not even know it until you’re told to return to fix it also taking up a lot of free time. Getting under driveways can also be a challenge since Every area is riddled with large rocks so you’ll spend a lot of time moving your sticks to find a clear spot. Even after you feel that you had a good week, you’ll end up going back to several jobs for free to fix cut lines. There is no rock adder price so make sure you have plenty of cash for new rods and new bits that bet broke or burnt up under a driveway.

Do yourself a favor and visit the site before sending a crew or relying on something to feed your whole tech base. Ask plenty of questions and don’t leave yourself in a position where you feel like you have to take something. In the end, it usually won’t be worth it.
