Exactly right. We've used ic Briggs, v twin. Briggs and , onans to run the pumps. Drilled our own fuel tanks and put in a lift tube so the engine had its own supply from the trucks gas tank. They worked good. I worked alot in the mountains. I liked my truck being off and in gear. With the tires chocked. We didn't know earlier and used motors and pumps much bigger than needed. My last one had a v twin 16 or 18 hp. 6hp is really all you need. Mine ran at less than half throttle. So you had to keep the air filter clean or it would foul plugs. You need to be able to start and stop it from up top.Think there's a some kind of dumb law on gas and diesel engines bolted on same chassis. But I liked our set up a. They were efficient, safe, and worked well. A 8hp honda with electric start would work great.
