Last night we had a truck and trailer jacked in KC. Guys had left the truck running for strobes and flashers. They also had an enclosure with a boatload of active fiber already in the trailer. So, as they're working, some fool gets in the truck and drives away. I mean, really takes off. Drives it like he stole it :) Starts crashing into vehicles. One tech tries to call 911. At some point both techs jump out the back. They are ok but shaken. The thief manages to total 3 vehicles and damages 17 more. and he bails at some point. Not caught yet. Our new truck and trailer are a total loss. The picture above is what was stripped out the enclosure opening in the back of the splice rig.
All this occurs in the Plaza area of KC, MO. One of the nicest and ritziest parts of town. Gents, be careful. Thieves abound, no matter where you're at.
