Re: Finding Businesses to sub out of

Well put.
Exactly what I was trying to say.
How in the hell do you advise the guy to start looking for contracts when you have no way to do the damn job.
Who's going to wait weeks for you to get your act together or hire someone to cover your work!!!

Like I said, I started as a sub for a sub just doing taps.
I busted my ass and worked later than everyone else.
When it was raining, I volunteered to go do peds.
I built my parts every night when many of the others were out drinking.
I watched, I learned, I took risks.
I found a job that the techs did all activation and lied to the prime that I could do actives.
I busted my ass doing those big ass monster amps back then off a ladder.
FOund an old POS knuckle boom for like $3500, and I was on my way.
Saved up some dough & fOund a real bucket truck for $5000 and upgraded.
Saved more and got a nice one for $15,000.
Hired guys and rented 4 more buckets.

Start as high up as you can, but you can't be a contractor without all the equipment, or crews that do all the work for you in place immediately.
