 If you are refering to district 1 , as well as 2-13 CWA members there have been working without a contract since August 1, and there is no strike at this time. This does not mean there will not be one, but it could also mean that an agreement between the unions and Verizon might just happen.

 If someone is telling you that there is a strike, they are full of it. Once again, since the contract has expired, the union could call for one, but it is their advantage not to advertise a date time for obvious reasons. If someone is telling you there is one or is going to be one and to be prepared they are just hopeful.
