If you are using a standard (non-QAM) SDA-5000, the DB9-to-DB9 cable with a null modem will work fine for data transfer to a computer.
If you use the same setup (DB9-to-DB9 with a null modem) and have the SDA-5000 with QAM the option, it WILL NOT download data to the computer.
Make up a cable that 1FARMER has attached and it will work on BOTH SDA-5000 units. The other option is use the Wavetek/Acterna/JDSU cable (S-S cable) that they will sell you for something like $60 or more.
