  Sure. Not for certain but, sounds as if they will be doing chromatic dispersion and polarization mode dispersion testing. This site does a very good job of explaining: thefoa.org/tech/ref/testing/test/CD_PMD.html Dan has done all the hard work, all the vendor reps are going to do is set up a laser and test modules on the other end.
