Him making that statement back then was simply campaigning for the office he's in today. Simply pea cocking to get the peoples attention.
Politicians are simply all vying for a position of power and to be able to put the entities/corporations that back their rise to power in more financially advantageous positions.
Whether Republican or Democrat politicians all have the same goal in mind. The only difference is one party wines us and dines us and tells us they love us first, and the other simply rips off our knickers, blows some spit on our brown eye and goes to town. Either way we end up in pain.
