I don't know about collections, but I used to do "non pay" disconnects for Wide Open West and if the customer paid us when we came to disconnect, then we didn't get a dime. Not even a trip charge.
By the way, I'd say 85% of the customers did pay us rather than get disconnected.
Nothing but a big waste of time and gas for me.
