The word is CHRIST-mas! In the dictionary, it says the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ!
The commercialized version of the meaning of Christmas... make kids want a bunch of "stuff" that they play with for a week, then they see commercials for the next "hot item" and they want that...
I grew up thinking it was about Santa. When I grew up, I did a little thinking and alot of reading...
As far as I can figure, the message is pretty simple... "peace on earth, good will toward men"?
My children and I used to make a birthday cake that said "Happy Birthday Jesus" on Christmas day. They are grown now, and the ones that have families of their own do the same.
I saw a bumper sticker that said, "Jesus is the reason for the Season!"
These are just my views, if you don't agree, that's okay.... We do still live on the same planet and I know not everyone shares my opinion... but I do wish and pray for peace on earth and good will to all!
