Had that happen in a small Ma & Pa system, we called it White Fish (LOL) would come and go wipe out all the modems in a certain node, we'd start tracking it and it would quit, finally stayed on long enough to find it . was coming from a house off the last amp , The guy would not let us in his house to trouble shoot , so we trap him out even tho he had internet, until he finally let us in his electrical wiring was all screwed up and when he would turn on certain outlets the problem would appear , we switched his TV to a different plug and it went away,
