Re: Intermittent raised noise floor...

aggrivating part about noise is that while you floor was raised 10 db there can be alot of smaller issues  that you can't see yet until you fix that one.  I always checked my forward levels as well everytime I went to a location.  These can help you find alot of the cracks especially if water gets in. They can help you if a agc has quit and jumped up  or dropped out. And all these can mess you up.  Always keep your eyes open for those kinked loops that are cracked, and for those ham and cb operator antennas.   But it will usually be through the drops.  Noise sucks but intermittant noise really  sucks.  Tell the customers too many people were on the cable and it caused a brown out.  I have had fun with that in the past.
