Thanks for the info guys. We still run across a few 26 value taps from time to time and we switch those out, but for the most part we have 23's as the highest in most places. It's good to know that a modem will still work with a tx of 50. That reduces the number for potential t/c's considerably. Most of our install over the last couple of years have been checked by dispatch the next day to make sure the modem was transmitting at 50 or below.Joe we have recently started load sharing to even out the modems on the ports. You mentioned not having too many modems per node. What would be considered "too many" in your opinion and if we are load sharing does that negate the too many modems per node dilemma? The load sharing has proven to be a tricky thing when trying to track noise issues. We have modems from 3 different nodes sharing a port on the cmts and one of those nodes is in a town 30 miles away from the other 2 nodes. Makes for fun times LOL. Do you guys have any experience or opinions of potential problems that can arise with going out to 577mhz on a 550mhz system? Surprisingly enough, during spot checks on the plant, I haven't seen any roll off. I'm just curious if stretching the limits like this can create noise issues. Again guys, thanks for the replies. Any bit of info is greatly appreciated.
