Most states have a mediation system. Crooks will ignore this step. Advice I would ad is to find assets like bank account numbers.
By the time you actually get a judgment these guys will have moved on. Thje courts can award a judgment but collections is another problem. Asking the court for attorney fees and collection costs will allow you to find someone to collect the judgment.
