How do I eat and pay for gas?

Just switched from independent contractor to in-house employee status for the company I've been with over two years.  I'm guessing my pay has decreased approximately $300 to $400 per week.  I now feel like nothing more than a day laborer with an hourly rate of about $8.50.  Formulas are being used to calculate gas and production bonuses like I'm on a factory assembly line and are going to run me to the ground.  I used to take pride in my work.  Now I'm feeling like I'd be better off taking a desk job vs. being an installer.
