        sounds like a headend problem to me. the sda goes to the headend and splits to the sda 5500 or 5510 and if the problem was in the plant it would show on the sda, however if you have a bad port on headend splitter or cmts card or bad jumper the modem and the dsam talk to this part of the headendand would show it. A long time ago i had the same problem and it took a lot of convinsing the headend tech, finaly had to schedual a night ticket to take down the node area, and tested it in the headend at the 8 way and the cmts ports turned out to be an upstream barrel on the back of the cmts had to change out the blade at a later date. hope this helps.
