A contract employee is like being half man and half woman.  Your either an employee or your a contractor.  People belive you can be both, and the ones that are wish they were not.  I wouldn't work for someone who wants to 1099 me then tell me when I gotta be on a jobsite or tell me I have to take a job and can't turn it down.  Don't be stupid.  Yet people do this all the time.
