As owner of the company I unelecet myself for coverage...which means I take the risk If I get hurt all medical bills are my own. The key here is ME...I don't want coverage on myself, I have health insurance..but I will cover any EMPLOYEES....IF I have any...but if I don't have employees, I should not be FORCED by primes to pay possibly thousands of dollars for an insurance that I don't want. But I understand your point about individuals being "contractors" If you are a sub...subbing..and some guy rolls up with a ladder on a luggage rack, he's not a "Company Owner". You better make sure that guy has coverage. But for a real company that has had employees in the past who has to down size due to this slow down, who is trying to regroup...it's bull.
