Oh! almost forgot check the fuel line- if it's rubber it could be deteriorating- check by looking at the inside. If it has cracks or is swollen (sometimes only on the inside) it needs to get replaced.
If it's pinched then you're pump is starving for fuel and that would also cause a burnout of the pump.
