I work a 4 day week at my day job, and I'm looking for extra work Friday-Sunday. I'd be happy with $250+ a day contracting, or $150-200 as an employee. Are there any installers making decent money, or am I better off building sheds for $200 a day under the table?
I got out when I couldn't make at least 2k a week anymore. I figured it wasn't worth the travel and the wear and tear on me. I wasn't interested in going back to installs, because all I saw were chumps making less $10 an hour after expenses, bragging about a $900 check when they were too stupid to realize $400 went back into their business and for 6 days they made dirt money.
Is it still that bad? Sorry, but $200 a day for a self-employed person is NOT a lot of money. Just wondering, and hoping things are better than they were for the dawgs who stayed.

So does anybody make any money doing this anymore?
