Johnmc3,
Great pictures. I remember meeting a survivor from the Bataan Death March back when my father was in the V.A. Hospital back in the early 1960's. I was young but this man (Patrick Melody) left a big impression on me to this day!
I lost an uncle in 1944 during the Battle for Los Negroes when Gen. MacArthur invaded the Admiralty Islands. Had 2 other uncles serve in the Pacific and another serve under Gen. Patton when the Sixth Armored Division liberated Buchenwald concentration camp. My father was on standby to be in the mainland invasion of Japan (Operation Downfall) but after the atomic bombs were dropped, this was scrapped...or I may not be here typing this reply! Needless to say, I am a bit of a historian and try to see as much as I can when I can. I have many pictures of Singapore and historical places there as well as China. Sorry for the soapbox!!!!
