Not actually , felt like it though , I went out test running a jet ski yesterday evening , I was cruzing around some of the Islands in Bogue Sound when the Seadoo I was riding broke down , so I got it up to the back side of the Island and broke out the ole cell phone to call a brother to come get me , no service , no VHF and the sun was going down . Thank God I had some cutters bug spray , the sand nets , no seeums , and mosquitos were bad . I was on the back side of the island a long ways from the channel and any boat traffic . Finally about 9:30 pm along comes this man Flounder gigging , I stopped him and he towed the ski back to the ramp for me . Thank God I was finally back on the mainland . I could only think to myself how it must feel to be marooned on an island as I watched the Sun sink below the Horizion . I then realised I had left my laptop locked in the shop where I've been working . I was supposed to be in Raleigh this morning , that wasn't possible , so now the road trip is off to Monday , my apologies gentlmen . I do feel like I learned something from last nights experience . Always carry a VHF even if its handheld and it has to be put in a water tight container . I was what we call inshore . I'd hate to have thought I'd of been in the Inlet jumping waves and the tide was going out when that ski broke down . Hindsight is always 20/20 at least I lived to tell the tale . Thanks for reading . Duck
I'd rather live my life believeing there is God and die to find out their isn't . Than to live my life as if their wasn't God and die to find out there is ! WHITFIELD
